Why the Temple
A different kind of
movement studio
Movement as medicine
We treat movement as care for the body — lubrication for your joints and a deeper mind-body connection. Work should be pain-free and genuinely feel good, at every age.
Taught by a master trainer
Two decades across elite studios — dancers, athletes, and people rebuilding after stroke, surgery or injury. You learn technique that holds up and progress that lasts.
Met where you are
From gentle rehab to high-intensity training, every session is tailored to your body and your goals. Kind, encouraging teachers who watch how you move and adjust in the moment.
What we do
Ways to move with us
Yoga Trapeze
Our signature aerial class on the trapeze. Decompress the spine, build real strength, and discover how good it feels to go upside down — supported and safe the whole way.
Golden Yoga Trapeze
The gentle way in. A slower-paced trapeze class built for first-timers and ages 55+, where going upside down is always optional. Confidence first, everything else follows.
Mat Pilates
Classical matwork that builds deep core strength, control and posture. Precise, well-cued and endlessly scalable — the foundation beneath everything we do.
MELT Method
Gentle self-massage with soft balls and rollers to rehydrate the fascia, release tension and calm the nervous system. Leave feeling longer, looser and lighter.
Restorative Yin Trapeze
Long, supported holds using the trapeze to open the body and quiet the mind. Deep release for tight hips, shoulders and backs — the softest landing in our schedule.
Sound Bath
Lie back and let waves of sound wash over you — crystal bowls, chimes and gentle tones that drop you into deep rest. Nothing to do but receive.

Meet Amanda Tay
Amanda founded The Movement Temple in October 2020 — built, in her words, with the love and generosity of her late husband, David “Hans” Schoenburg.
Two decades of movement instruction — from elite studios in New York and San Francisco to guiding clients through stroke, surgery and injury recovery. She built the Temple so movement could be pain-free and genuinely fun, at any age.

“The first class was very challenging, and I've noticed small gains in flexibility and balance ever since. They work with the students to help them succeed.”
“Because of our work together, I'm now able to do things I couldn't before, with so much improvement. I highly recommend Amanda's instruction.”
“The instructors are kind and encouraging, and they meet you exactly where you are. I leave every session feeling stronger and more myself.”
